Summary
2X Application Server and Client are used by Lawex Corporation for the purpose of facilitating connections to TrialWorks Hosting Terminal Servers and provide advanced capabilities such us individual application deployment, load balancing, and universal printing. This connection system is replacing the existing infrastructure, starting May 2009. All users should follow this article and complete the setup of the system.
TriCerat SimplifyPrinting / ScrewDrivers are being phased out.

Pre-Requsites:
- Windows XP Users must have Remote Desktop Client version 6.x installed for all features to work properly. Generally, this product is part of Windows Update. You may download version 6.1 hotfix from Microsoft at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=6E1EC93D-BDBD-4983-92F7-479E088570AD&displaylang=en.
- All users should have a .pdf viewer installed locally. The preferred method for 2X to transfer print jobs to the local printer is via .pdf format. If you do not have a .pdf viewer installed, we recommend the free FoxIt Reader. http://mirrors.foxitsoftware.com/pub/foxit/reader/desktop/win/3.x/3.0/enu/FoxitReader30_enu_Setup.exe

Connectivity
After installtion, the 2X Client will always hide in the System Tray.
The 2X Client can be used to access individual applications OR the full Terminal Server desktop
2X Universal Printer
2x Printing works differently than what users are generally used to. Rather than connect your physical printers, 2x uses a "2x Universal Printer" to generate a PDF, transfer it to the local system the user is on, and then print it to a desired printer. You should set it as your default printer on our system. Initially the system is configured to prompt to choose which of your own printers to use. You also have the option to always print to your WINDOWS DEFAULT PRINTER, you may change those settings from the 2x Client control panel - under OPTIONS. Users can set the 2x Client to prompt for a desired printer or to simply generate a PDF.
2X Univeral Printer should be used for EVERY PRINT JOB done on the hosted environment.
Changes to the intial setup can be done inside the 2x Client.
2x Universal Printer: Special Sizing for Envelopes
"2X Universal Printer" has no predefined page size "Envelope #10", but meantime you can easily add it manually.
- Please do Start->Settings->Printers and Faxes->2X Universal Printer->Properties.
- In the dialog choose "Additional" tab and there press button "Additional properties".
- In the new dialog choose "Paper Size" tab and there press "Add" button.
- In next dialog enter name for your custom page size (e.g: My envelope) and set neccessary page sizes (For Envelope #10 they are width: 4.125", length: 9.5").
- Close all dialogs. After this you new page size should be available in any other applications.
- If font appears too large on printed envelopes, change from EMF printing to PDF.
- If the margins need adjustment, try Top: .5" Bottom: .5" Left: 1" Right 1"

Individual Application Sessions
These applications may not be available immediately. Use the REFRESH option in 2x to update latest list.
All of these applications will open independently, appearing as if they were running directly on your computer and NOT in a separate window. This is the latest upgrade to our hosting system and we hope you enjoy it. We do recognize that some users will have trouble understanding the difference conceptually; you can always use the "Desktop Sessions" items listed above to help with the transition. We urge you try them out and get a feel for how the new application delivery system works. This will offer the greatest benefit to users with multiple monitors.
