TrialWorks Vault versus Shadow-Vault
TrialWorks Vault is intended for backing up TrialWorks SQL Data, CaseFiles, and Templates. Once the device arrives in your location, our technicians will configure it to sync only those items. Attempting to place large - daily - backups on the system will generally result in failures as these backups usually take many hours, and even days, to upload. In most cases, our TrialWorks Vault G-250 devices, with 250Gb of storage space, are sufficient.
If you wish to backup your entire server - or multiple servers - TrialWorks Shadow-Vault plans are designed to meet that need. Each plan includes a StorageCraft ShadowProtect agent license for your server, with additional licenses available for purchase. The system will then do a complete full backup of the licensed servers, followed by continuous incremental chains thereafter. We even offer a "round-trip hard drive" service for larger backup sets. As a rule of thumb, the appropriate plan has three times the amount of storage space than you are using right now.
In other words, if your current total disk use is:
- Up to 75 Gb, the 250 Gb devices are right for you.
- Up to 150Gb, the 500 Gb devices are the right choice.
- Up to 300Gb, the 1000Gb devices.
- We offer larger devices, as well as ones equipped for immediate virtualization. If you are interested in backup systems that go beyond 1TB, or offer immediate recovery, please contact our technical team for an assessment and evaluation.

TrialWorks Vault + Virtualization
TrialWorks Vault is also available with ready-to-restore options. Codenamed "Aurora", these enterprise class devices take your backups to a higher-level. They are capable of running your server (or servers) in a "virtual" state if you suffer a massive hardware failure. Dell PowerEdge Servers, or HP Servers, are a good choice for your business - but it can take a week, or more, before your order is built and shipped. The Aurora series appliance can bring you to function in a few hours, giving you the time and flexibility you need to purchase proper replacement equipment. Should your office suffer a disaster, our restore-in-the-cloud capabilities can bring your server online in our East Coast or West Coast data center.
